chain plate backer

I was putting the chain plates for the side shrouds back on tonight when I notice a 1"x6" aluminum backer plate laying in the bottom of the hull. It appears to be a backer for the side shroud chain plate. I assume it goes behind the 2 horizontal screws in the chainplate? Is there one for the vertical screws too?

There should be an aluminum plate that goes behind all four of the screws.

My boat clearly didn't have that since I just have a piece of Al strapping with 2 holes in it. It sounds like this is a piece of Al bent to match the hull? Is this something I can get from Tom?
