Beam end cap quick disconnect idea needed
I’ve already replaced rivets with 6-32 machine screws but need a better idea. My 8’ stick it pole is going in there for sandbar anchoring duties.

Hmmm... Seems to me that anything faster/easier is going to either stick out too much or be a little elaborate.
Under "elaborate", spring-loaded (from inside the cap) pins that protrude into/through holes in the beam tube. Windsurfers use them a lot for connecting to boom and mast sections.

A shock cord connecting both caps. Secures em and is a tether??

Sure, that sounds good. You can't actually remove the caps from the boat without untying the shock cord, but you're not going to lose them either.
