Converting Supercat mast

Post by DanBerger »

I have a slight bow to my SC 15 mast and I can get my hands on a SC19 mast to convert.

Since the 19 mast has the spreaders, I would like to keep them and add them to the 15 formula, so my question is: What measurements would the factory suggest using as far as where to mount the tangs for the diamond wires? I plan on adding a spinnaker and/or a crazy screacher, so the spreader and diamonds would help.

Now, before everyone jumps on me for adding something that may not be needed, I'm only interested in this because I'm getting a 19 mast that already has the spreaders. I don't want too many extra holes in the mast and I would just like to give it a try. I would really like to get a 15 mast or even a 17 mast, but I have to go with what I can get.

One more thing--I am getting a carbon F18HT mast that I would like to cut down to fit and it has spreaders, too.

Dude. I asked. It was like $6500!!

I got a really nice 33' mast from a F18HT that is about the same shape as the Supercat mast, but it is almost as heavy as my 15 aluminum mast!!
