Are there any pics out there of how a sail feeder is installed on the mast?

GH,

On aluminum masts we usually do not install a fixed sail feeder on the mast, but we do use a pre-feeder that is attached to the mast base with a piece of small line. The pre-feeder acts like an extra set of hands and helps to guide the sail into the sail track. If your interested in the pre-feeder give Tom a call at 651-462-SAIL and he can set you up.

Thanks for the reply,I'll look into it. On a different subject: Are copper rivets stock on the clew board? There was quite a bit of corrosion on mine that had to be scrubbed off.

I don't know about copper, but Brass rivets are pretty common as they are easier to install compared to Stainless ones. They do get corroded in salt water environments and could look like copper.

Yes brass would be the case. Do I just keep them clean or should they be replaced?

Hey where do you sail at?? If I remember you are in the Northern Virginia area ??? There are several of us SC sailors that go out on regular weekend sails. Come on along and we can help you out as well. Matt and Tom know us from here and calling. You are more than welcome to join us to both learn and have fun. There are 3 SC19's ....... 2 SC15's (you would make 3) and a modified SC20 that all sail in this group. Come on out...... drop me a note here and we can exchange contact info.

Matt,

Can you post a picture of the pre-feeder you are talking about?

Thanks,

Kevin

It worked great until the last 1/4 of the sail, then the amount of sail overwhelmed it and the bolt rope started jamming above the gate. I need to work with it some more so it stays tight to the mast
The Harken sheave at the mast head is well worth it. It did require some filing to get it to fit.
Lot's of MC Lube was most helpful.
I tied a snatch block around the rear crossbar and turned the halyard through it so I'm pulling towards my self while braced against the front crossbar. That helped a lot.
Rained out today will work on it next week. Thanks to all for the help. GH
