rudder kickup

One of my SC17 rudders doesn't seem to be kicking up. What is the usual culprit for this? do the white rollers get worn down or the spring lose stiffness?
I am assuming you have a plastic pin, if it is metal replace it!
Start by removing the springs and make sure the pin moves up and down freely. You can adjust the nuts to make sure it moves smoothly. Also make sure there is a bit of grease on the pin and casting to help lubricate things.
