From your experience, what works best on cats? single stage or 2 stage paint? What other tips can you give as far as # of coats each stage etc....
thanx,
Eric

Let me start with saying I have only painted single stage.
I doubt there is a difference in performance of the paint. I usually paint single stage because I have to clean the gun only once. I also think it is easier to do touch ups with single stage.
However I think it takes a little more skill to paint single stage. No big deal though.

Eric,
If you are thinking to clear coat as the second stage, we only do single stage.
Easier and faster, plus much easier to repair. For what we want clear coat would be just frosting on a cake.
Good luck.

The primer is on so far, we may shoot color today.
The primer is revealing more flaws than I expected so I have to figure out how to deal with them quickly....

I bought 2008 Ford Creme Brulee PPG single stage and primer to go with.
The weather has not cooperated so far plus I took this weekend off to Sail the Miami to Keylargo race (and back). It is gonna be a Beauty when I am finished. New paint, new tramps, new jib, new sheets, and next, new main........ sweet..............
