Need to disassemble a BW built Sc17 to carry it in to a lake with no.road access. Have a few questions. Anybody know what the individual hulls weigh? It will be easier for my application to disassemble it again in the fall to carry it back up.a steep bank to the cabin for winter storage. Given that, do I need the sealant around the crosstubes? It looks to be silicone or similar on this unit not a structural adhesive or bedding compound..

Hull weights varied over the years, and with age they tend to get heavier. That being said I would plan on something around 100 lbs, could be a little more or a little less.
There should not be any sealant between the beams and the hull saddle. People seemed to think it was needed, but we always advised against it as it makes things very difficult to get apart. Be careful removing the beam bolts from the hulls, if the boat was sailed in salt water there could be quite a bit of corrosion between the bolt, moon washer and threads in the hulls. We recommend a good lithium grease on the bolt and in the threads to prevent corrosion.

I liked a big dose of PB Blaster around the bolts. Give it some time. Wrap a rag around the saddles to catch the drips.
