Telescoping Trailer ideas

Looking for unique ideas regarding telescoping trailers (for a fixed beam SC20). Years ago I built a telescoping trailer for a SC20 by using 3" and 2.5" pipe from Home Depot, however as the pipe was round it was difficult to keep the cradles in the correct position when loadind/unloading the trailer.

Thinking of the simply using square tubing but this is likely to be $$$ (not as readily avail as round galvanized pipe)

Was wondering if anyone had any easy/unique telescoping trailer designs??

1-1/2" Uni strut sleeves into 2" square tubing nicely. Is that size strong enough? GH
