Rudder hardware

Hey folks, the SC17 is going back together. Here are a couple of pictures of my rudders. Is the hardware correct? As you can see from one picture, the hardware I ordered last year is on the rudder? Did I get the correct hardware? I'm not sure how to utilize what I have based on how my rudders are currently put together.

Oh, and I should have mentioned that the 4 small plastic pieces don't appear to be in the illustrated parts book.

thanks,

Mark

Mark,

I posted a couple of pictures of rudder rigging under the post "Rudder Rigging". I think you will get the idea of how to correctly rig the rudders from that post.

It all looks good but I would like a pic from the back. You really need to put something between the rudder and the stock.

Those 4 black pieces are the rudder pins. Use them, They are awesome and will break before your transom gets ripped off. Don't use metal pins!!!

As far as a bushing between the rudder and the housing, I went to Bed Bath & beyond and got some of their roll-up cutting boards and cut huge disks out of them. I sanded the rudder with rough sandpaper and superglued the disks to the rudder, then installed them. So far, so good. I have an extremely tight system.

I glued them on because last year (before gluing), I left my boat on the beach and sand collected behind the disks, making it impossible to move the rudder. I have now made a cover for the rudders to keep the sand out.

Hi Dan, thanks for the note. I'll yank the steel pin and use the plastic pins to mount the rudder. My rudder ropes are all set...got those correctly rigged from someone that posted last year.....

As a side note, what is the name of the font for the Supercat logo? And what size do you use on the sides of the hull?

thanks,

Mark
