I've sailed an ARC 22 with the front tramp for two years.

Pros: greater area to "roam" around when pleasure sailing
allows you to douse the jib off the beach, hoist the jib when the boat is on the cat trax
use the edge for support with the crew forward of or on the main beam, and allows ...

This year will be sponsored/run through the Fort Walton Yacht Club. They planned it for last year but Ivan changed everyones mind.

Hopefully the Carlton Tucker scholorship fund will be linked with RTI this year. Dates, etc. should be on the FWYC web site.

FAST AND VERY PAINFUL!!!

Wish we had a video of the three 22's, neck and neck, chutes pulling, right on the edge. With the right background music it would have rivaled the Spitfire video.

The Panhandle 22's are all fine. Cook and Marsh's boats were on trailers safe from most of the onslought. Franzen's boat made it, but not his trailer. Kelley's boat and mine rode it out in his front yard with nary a scratch.

Having done that, been there, and now looking at another round of "glueing" here are my suggestions.
Definitely use the glue/bonding agent Tom is referring to.
Flip the hulls over to do the bottom set.
Make sure the entire surface of the carpet is well adheased before considering the job ...

Awesome Blow By Blow of what sounds like a great race. Glad you got the bugs worked out in time for the rest of the years campaign.

Add the snuffer and bag to my current order. I'll be glad to test it out in the Destin area. Do you know if it will require an adjustment-shape or size- to the currently used chutes? Can the old chutes be retrofitted for the snuffer? Two patches, mid pole system, best of both worlds and ...
