I'm interested in the layup schedule of boats in general, but specifically my old '83 boston whaler SC19.
I understand its glass/foam/glass with keels of solid glass.
does anyone here know the weights of the glass or the type of foam, and how thick the keel is layed up?
And what differences do the ...

Re: Supercat 19 spinnaker
Bill,
Maybe I should have had the factory make the sail, but how was I really supposed to know that? There is not a lot of information of these boats out there, and as a novice I went to a few local sail lofts got a decent price from one close to home and had them make it. The boat would never ...

Re: Supercat 19 spinnaker
The snuffer is a mid pole SNU, but with the end pole I17 sail it needs to be that far out. If I have a sail made I will have patches put into it to be able to use the snuffer system mid pole.
Thanks, the sails were made by C&C in here in Houston. They are a really heavy grey pentex I seem to be ...

Supercat 19 spinnaker
Ok, so I got most of the stuff together, and for now am sizing up different spinnaker setups.
F18 spin is way too tall for the 1/3 of the distance up the mast above the stay's for the bale, or the pole would be way too long.
I17 spin is what is shown in the pic. It seems pretty close to what is ...

SC19 Texas City Dike 4th of July Weekend
Just a few photos from the weekend. I always run a go-pro, and pull some photos off the video, but this weekend Morris Covin brought a "real" camera to the beach.

wow, it's cool to get a few of these old tubs together.
I wish there were more around here, I know of 3 or 4 19's, but their owners seem to like yard-art rather than sailing.

Deck Monkey Fathers Day Weekend
Kendall, my crew is 5 years old and 50 lbs. Finding a harness for her might get a little difficult, and she doesn't seem to be satisfied if not allowed out on the wire.
You can critique my stance on the wire; my excuse is I have a spine implant, and this position is comfortable.
I'll post a link ...

Re: supercats are converging at the Rappahannock river ragat
I'd like to hang with some other supercats, but that is a long haul.
We ended up in 5th over all, 4th non-spin in the GT300 Dash with the 19. I'm going to put together some photos of the boat coming together and the race today and hopefully post them soon

SC19 repaint/rebuild
The swingset has been re-purposed!
There is a yellow fairing compound that in spots is just over 1/4" thick. Around and through this is where most of the cracking is located. I will probably grind it off and build op with glass so the fairing compound is much thinner. It looks as though it was done ...
