Re: Yet another weather helm problem....
I too have been chasing a helm problem around my SC17 for a couple of years. This year I had an idea....measure the diagonals of the entire boat. To my surprise one is 3.5 inches longer than the other which means that one hull is ahead of the other making one shroud longer and one shorter ...

Re: Refurbishing SC20
I had similar trouble on my SC17 when I bought it 2 years ago. I suspect that your gelcoat issue is symptomatic of a more structural problem below. Best to get the grinder out and investigate.
I used plywood drilled to accept the rudder gugeoun bolts to squeez my lamination back into place. Heavy ...

Bent Mast :((
Last fall a big wind came up and picked my SC17 up and dumped her on her side (she moved about 10 feet up the beach). The first part of the boat to reconnect with the beach was the mast. Now the mast is bent but fortunately it is a smooth bend.
I have straightened out a H16 mast before (lots of ...

SC17 Beam removal
Hello again.
I was wanting to take the beam off for some maintenence and paint under the beam... I started to loosen the bolts but as they were very hard to turn I chickened out (afraid of gauling the threads) and tightend them back up.
How long are the bolts? What should I do to tease them out ...

Polars
Does anyone know of published polars for the SC17. Are there diagrams for all variations of the boat (Unirig, 2UP and Modern with kite)?

SC 17 Mast Ball and Traveler.
Hi All.
Bought an old SC17 this spring and been havin a ball on it. Today I lubed my ball and restepped the mast after replacing the halyard sheave. The mast base seems to be grooved pritey badly from the roll pin which hold the ball on. Is this a common problem? The roll pin is a little loose. How ...
